This past year the glass community lost an esteemed member, Edward D. Poore. This very special exhibit details Ed Poore's gifted talent as a glass cutter. He learned the centuries old technique of glass cutting and engraving under the tutelage of Carl Scheidenback at Pairpoint Glass Works in Sagamore, Massachusetts where he began his career. After ten years with Paripoint Ed started his own studio, the Crystal Workshop, in Sagamore. He became fascinated with paperweights, which eventually turned into a career specializing in the restoration of antique and contemporary paperweights. He also created unqiue cutting designs for leading contemporary paperweight artists Debbie Tarsitano and David Graeber. He also created cut glass sculptures of his own design, as well as new engraving patterns. A compelling exhibit - not to be missed.
