Born in Scotland and raised in Canada, David Francey is a singer/songwriter who creates folk music. Colored with his working-class experiences, his 1999 debut album Torn Screen Door captured the attention of a wide-spread audience, particularly on the North American folk festival circuit. In addition to his solo material Francey has collaborated with various performers including traditional country artists Kieran Kane, Fats Kaplin and Kevin Welch on the 2004 album The Waking Hour, a darker politically-driven effort. A mainstay in Canada's folk music scene, he released his ninth album Late Edition, in 2011 and continues to tour across Europe and Australia.
