Though Austin, Texas-based band The Sword is considered by many to fall into the hard rock/metal category, the band interjects elements of classic rock and psychedelica into its sonic amalgam to create a unique sound. The result is a nostalgic music style that begs to be compared to metal pioneers Black Sabbath. Though this comparison is slightly unfounded, the two groups sound similar to one another and after hearing material from The Sword, it's easy to think this band got its start when it formed in 2003 as a Black Sabbath cover band or something.
