Born Maurice Benguigui, Patrick Bruel is a French singer, actor and professional poker player. He released his debut album Vide, in 1982, while maintaining a successful television acting career, though as he continued to release records he earned the attention needed to cross over to the big screen, most notably in Sydney Pollack's 1995 version of Sabrina. Bruel has released over a dozen live and studio albums, and remains one of France's most recognizable pop stars.
