CATL is a blues-rock outfit from Toronto, Canada with a sound that has managed to be considered by many of its fans and critics as "primordial," "raw" and "warped"--three superlatives most young blues acts can only hope to be described with. Comprised of three excellent musicians who have learned from some of the best blues musicians still around, the members of CATL show a definite preference for old time blues from the 1940s, and they manage to bring the music to life, performing on vintage instruments and equipment in all its minimalistic splendor. Despite the trio's admiration for the past, there is something definitely forward-looking and optimistic about CATL and their genuine love for blues and rock and roll that rubs off on everyone who sees them performing live.
