Hailing from the birthplace and heart of jazz music, New Orleans-born artist Christian Scott is an internationally renowned jazz trumpeter known for using an unvoiced tone he refers to as the whisper technique for the airy sound it produces. Though he has contributed to dozens of recordings, Scott was critically acclaimed for his debut effort as a band leader, Rewind That. Upon the records release in 2006, it was praised as the most remarkable debut in the last decade of jazz music for its effortless fusion of soulful grooves and hip-hop rhythms into nu jazz structures. Scott's eager and youthful energy only strengthened as his reputation as a prominent jazz figure grew with each of his subsequent releases. He began to work with the jazz world's most iconic figures such as engineer Rudy Van Gelder, while incorporating new elements such as rock guitar rhythms into his music.
