In the minds of many Bostonians, this event officially begins the holiday season. The Boston Common tree is guaranteed to be one of the largest decorated trees in the city. Every year a gigantic tree is given to the city of Boston by the people of Halifax, Nova Scotia, as thanks for the aid that Boston gave to their city after a devastating explosion in 1917. There will also be live entertainment with songs from various artists.
