Serdar Somuncu is a German-Turkish comedian, writer, director and actor. Bron in Istanbul but raised in Germany, he creates all his work in the German language. Being a theater actor and director for many years, he first raised major public awareness with his scathing stage reading of Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf in 1996, which was very successful throughout Germany. With his cultural background and his unapologetic way of reading, he managed to highlight the absurdity and stupidity of the infamous book. His critical opinions of Nazism, Islam and society in general have played a great role in his career as a comedian.
