Kleiner Mann, Was Nun? (Little Man, What Now?) is an adaption for stage of the world-famous novel by Hans Fallada, published in Germany in 1932, only a year before the rise of Adolf Hitler. The story describes in great detail the final days of the Weimar Republic, bringing to the attention of many the desperation and economic catastrophe that plagued post-World War I Germany in the years leading up to the Third Reich. Focusing on the daily life of a young family living in Germany during this period, the stage version of Hans Fallada's novel brings to life the author's narrative in a way that is both heart-wrenching and timely during today's tough economic times.
