Raquel Vidal is a Hudson Valley based singer-songwriter who heads up Diamond Hotel, an original band featured on WFUVs “On Your Radar”. Described by New York Music Daily as “underground noir” with songs that are “darkly cinematic” and “voice a bittersweet optimism”, her lyrics explore the dark corridors and velvet lounges of the human experience until they expose the light streaming in. Since 2013, Raquel has been working with Dar Williams on her annual songwriting retreat, Writing A Song That Matters, growing and helping mentor an international community of honest songwriters without borders.
Currently, Raquel is in the final mixing stages of a follow up studio album with Diamond Hotel to be released this fall and is also writing new material for a solo project. She looks forward to sharing her music alongside the very talented singer-songwriter, Neal Gomberg.
Neal Gomberg is a Hudson Valley-based singer-songwriter, who recently returned to the New York area. He’s performed at dozens of local venues, including The Towne Crier, where he’s appeared as the opening act for musical luminaries like Steve Forbert, Willie Nile and Graham Parker, who was quoted as saying that his jaw dropped at the quality of Neal’s songs. “Lovers and Other Strangers.”
Neal’s first album was co-produced by John Guth (Suzanne Vega, Judy Collins) and the legendary Rob Stoner (Bob Dylan’s bass player and bandleader on the Rolling Thunder Revue tour). Guth, Stoner and Dylan’s ex-percussionist, Luther Rix, all accompanied Neal on his debut record. Neal is currently writing songs for his next release, and looks forward to sharing the stage and his music with the very talented, singer-songwriter, Raquel Vidal. Stylistically, he’s been described as the lovechild of Elvis Costello and Paul Simon.
