Daves True Story (Kelly Flint, David Cantor and Jeff Eyrich) returns to the Towne Crier Stage, this time in the Salon for a special Second Saturday-Beacon performance. Kelly Flint with Jeff Eyrich on upright bass will open followed by a set of Dave’s True Story. It has been rumored that David Cantor will make a rare solo appearance to start the evening off. Come see!
Dave’s True Story began as the duo of singer Kelly Flint and guitarist/songwriter David Cantor back in 1992. They quickly gained a reputation for their stylish, elegant jazz/pop sound that blended Kelly’s smooth-as-silk vocals with Dave's lyrics full of wit, sex and other depravities.
Over the next 15 years, Dave’s True Story made a name for themselves internationally and toured extensively for audiences that ranged from 20 people to 40,000. They’ve played everywhere from the Kennedy Center in Washington DC to the Paradiso Club in Amsterdam to the Living Room on the lower Eastside of NY. Their music continues to sell worldwide.
Producer and bassist Jeff Eyrich became the third core member of the group in 1999. Before they turned in their tour van in 2008, Dave’s True Story recorded four highly acclaimed albums of original material: “Dave’s True Story” (1994), “Sex Without Bodies” (1998), “Unauthorized” (2000) and “Nature” (2005). They also did an album of Dylan tunes given the Dave’s True Story treatment, “Simple Twist of Fate: DTS Does Dylan” (2006). Their music has been featured in numerous movies and TV (including “Kissing Jessica Stein,” “Trust the Man” and “Breaking Bad,” to name a few).
Since 2008, Kelly and Dave have continued making music and performing with their own individual projects and with rare DTS reunion shows thrown in. After a couple of very successful shows in 2019 DTS has regrouped with the original members and is picking up where they left off.
