Born and raised in Birmingham, Raymond Froggatt is a singer/songwriter who is known for his folk-country rock fusion. He got his start in music playing with a rock and roll band called The Buccaneers in the 1960s, which later changed its name to Monopoly and eventually The Raymond Froggat Band. The outfit was signed to Polydor in 1964 but disbanded by the early 1970s after failing to attract attention in the UK and US. After the unsuccessful 1968 release of his debut solo album Voice and Writing of Raymond Froggatt, he was now left without a band and decided to revamp his music with folk and alternative country flavors. He first captured his new style on Bleach, released in 1972, offering audiences the sound that would go on to make him famous. He continues to tour worldwide and release new albums, including 2003's As Cold as a Landlord's Heart.
