Having grown up in several different European countries including Germany, England and Switzerland, Sophie Hunger is a singer/songwriter with varying taste in music. From rock to hip-hop and R&B to jazz, she eventually found her own sound with folk music by blending elements of pop, blues and country into her style. After self-recording an album in her living room, she sold a few thousand copies of the record with the help of jazz legend Erik Truffaz and soon skyrocketed to fame. Though it's Hunger's catty live performance that initially won her widespread attention, her smokey voice and blues-inflected folk style captured on her recordings, particularly on 2008's Monday's Ghost, have earned her a loyal fan base and favorable reviews from critics.
