Frank (Just Frank) channels the sounds of 1980s new wave and post punk so authentically (and unironically) that one could easily mistake it for coming straight out of the decade in question. The French band, now based in Brooklyn, uses obvious touchstones like New Order and The Cure as its primary sources of inspiration. Those icy textures and synthpop hooks merge with a dark and somewhat foreboding atmospheric feel that has helped the band resonate favorably with fans of moody new wave. Originally a duo, Frank (Just Frank) added a third member and has been successfully making a name for itself in Brooklyn's crowded indie rock scene.
