After breaking onto the burgeoning Greenwich Village folk rock scene in the early-1970s, Jackson Browne managed to become one of the champions of the genre and crusaders for its inclusion into the listening mainstream. Working more as a man behind the scenes, Browne is responsible for some of the genre's most influential hits, including songs off of Nico's Chelsea Girl album, The Eagles' breakthrough hit "Take It Easy," and multiple songs made famous by The Byrds. Though his solo work never gained him immense fame and his popularity has faded with time, Browne is nevertheless considered a crucial figure for contemporary music and is well respected by musicians everywhere.
