Leftöver Crack is a punk rock band from New York City that was formed out of the ashes of the ska punk outfit Choking Victim in 1998. Using elements of ska, hip-hop, metal and hardcore punk, the band self-describes its sound as "crack-rocksteady" and often employs radical, politically driven lyrics opposing religion, capitalism and government. Leftöver Crack dropped its debut full-length album Mediocre Generica, in 2001 with Hellcat Records, who forced the band to change the album's original title, artwork and track listing due to its graphic nature. Unhappy with the label's iron fist management, the band found itself tangled up in legal disputes until it finally was able to record and release its sophomore album Fuck World Track, with the Alternative Tentacles imprint in 2004. Leftöver Crack embarked on a brief hiatus until 2006, followed by the departure of founder and long-time guitarist Ezra Kire, but continued on to tour Australia and New Zealand for the first time in 2009. Reunited with its original guitarist, the band regrouped in 2010 and has since spent much of its time touring both coasts of the US.
