Houston, Texax five-piece Wild Moccasins founded by boyfriend-girlfriend Cody Swann and Zahira Gutierrez manages to fit the exact mold of the modern indie pop band. With jangly post-punk guitars, boy-girl harmonies invoking chamber pop, realist lyrics about relationships and a general style that looks like it belongs on the cover of an Urban Outfitters catalog, the group certainly understands the niche it's trying to fit into. While the band might conform to one specific image and therefore lack much originality, it does make well-produced music for its genre of choice and has attracted a solid following in its native state.
