The alternative lo-fi rock outfit Pavement formed in Stockton, California, in 1989 managed to become one of the more influential bands to make music in the 1990s. The group's disregard for crisp, clean recording methods actually worked to Pavement's advantage and helped propel the band toward becoming an underground music sensation. Though the members of Pavement decided to call it quits in 1999, the band decided to reconcile in 2010 to the delight of dedicated indie rock fans everywhere.
