One of Shakespeare's most beloved comedies, Twelfth Night is a story of mistaken identity, cross dressing, tomfoolery and clever scheming. When Viola assumes the identity of a man, she offers her services to Duke Orsino ans attempts to help him win the object of his affections, Olivia. Still disguised as a man, she befriend Olivia who in turn becomes infatuated with the male version of Viola while Viola falls in love with the Duke. Complicating matters further, Viola's twin brother shows up and all chaos ensues. The classic comedy has been revived several times over the centuries and interpreted for modern times in film and television, though the foundation of the story always persists.
