Born Demario DeWayne White Jr., Moneybagg Yo is an American rapper from Memphis, TN. Growing up, he dropped out of school to help his mother make ends meet and used whatever money was left over for studio time. He made his debut in 2012 with the mixtape From Da Block 2 Da Booth and found his rhythm a few years later with albums like Federal 3X and 2 Heartless, which debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at numbers five and 16 respectively. Since then he has grown to become one of the most fecund rappers of his generation; dropping as many as five records a year without any famous features. His brand of music, a mix of trip-hop and gospel spiced with clever wordplay, has been well-received by the masses. His first official album RESET, released in 2018, featured the likes of J. Cole, Future, Kodak Black, YG, Kevin Gates, Rvussian and Jeremih on the tracks "Say Na," "Chanel Junkie," "Lower Level," "Curry Jersey," "Fall Down" and "Tryna Do." His second album 43va Heartless, featuring tracks like "Dior" dropped in 2019. 2020's Time Served became his highest-charting project, debuting at number three on the Billboard 200 chart.
