Wisconsin-born, Brooklyn-based Yellow Ostrich is primarily the work of singer-songwriter Alex Schaaf. Combining both live and electronic elements, Schaaf processes and layers his voice to create an unusually full sound for a one-man project. Schaff's vocals tend toward a pop aesthetic, yet maintain an indie quirk to them that adds to his music's nuance. Yellow Ostrich's debut record is titled The Mistress, and was released in 2010.
