Tombs is a metal and hardcore project based out of Brooklyn, New York. For such a relatively small lineup, the band makes a pummeling and chaotic amount of noise that sounds as though it could easily be utilizing another member or two. The band's music pulls from hardcore's in-your-face style, as well as from various aspects of metal and old-school punk of the 1980s. However, a certain level of psychedelic leanings and tendencies toward experimentation pop up in Tombs' use of tones, feedback and distortion. Lead singer and guitarist Mike Hill is the owner of a thick, guttural scream that fits in perfectly with the sound the band is after.
