Donnis is a Southern hip-hop rapper from Atlanta who released his debut mixtape, Diary of an ATL Brave, in 2009. His music combines the obligatory brag-heavy style of rap that is often associated with modern hip-hop coming out of Georgia and other areas of the South. The beats Donnis flows over are club-friendly and lively, comprised of trance-inspired keyboard swirls and a drum machine style pulled from crunk music, another popular Southern rap sub-genre. The rapper ascended quickly in the aftermath of the aforementioned mixtape, landing opening slots for the likes of T.I., Chingy and Erykah Badu. Donnis signed to Atlantic Records soon after and released his major label debut EP, Fashionably Late, toward the end of 2010.
