Dolorean is an alt country-inspired indie folk project based out of Portland. The band's roots date back to the late-1990s, when Al James, one of the group's lead songwriters, would perform solo at local bars and coffee shops. Eventually, fellow local musician Jay Clarke took notice and the two formed a partnership to create quaint, relatively straightforward folk-rock tunes full of acoustic instrumentation and vintage-sounding harmonies. James and Clarke have since gone on to incorporate a cast of musicians to help transform their songs into fully-bloomed creations during live shows, but their songwriting relationship still forms the creative core of the group. Dolorean's music will be a nice, gentle reminder of years past for fans of artists such as Bob Dylan, Neil Young and The Band.
