From his home base of Bloomington, Indiana, electronic music artist Dylan Ettinger creates odd sonic soundscapes and collages that are highly experimental in nature. Combining droning noise, cheesy 80s synths, strange instrumentation and songs that stretch to ten minutes long, his 2010 album, New Age Outlaws, is a strong example of the more psychedelic and shape-shifting elements of electronic music. The slow-building and occasionally dissonant material Ettinger creates certainly won't be everyone's cup of tea. Patient listeners, however, will find a lot to like in his dense and genre-blurring tracks.
