Five talented, multi-instrumentalists based out of Chicago make up the modern progressive rock band called A Lull. The type of music the group creates isn't prog rock in the same vein as many of the stereotypical and instrumentally intensive groups that fall under the progressive rock category, but rather, a band that creates complex tunes full of sonic experimentation. Formed in 2007, the quintet employs an impressive amount of synthesized noises in its sound, along with non-traditional rhythmic accompaniments. Coupled with an acute ear for production, the group's studio releases prove the band's ability to push the boundaries of what is typically expected from a prog rock group.
