Tamar-kali is a rock and soul musician from New York. Born as Tamara Colletta Brown, she changed her performing name to Tamar-kali because "kali" is the Hindu goddess of war and power. Her music features soulful lyrics and powerful guitar parts. She released her first EP, Geechee Goddess Hardcore Warrior Soul EP, in 2005 and her debut album, Black Bottom, in 2010.
