Schmillion

Schmillion is an Austin, Texas-based rock band notable for the young ages of its member. The group, comprised of five teenage girls, plays a style of music that is heavily-influenced by the alternative rock, grunge and riot grrrl scenes of the 1990s. Root note chugging bass lines, distorted guitar and punk rock rhythms are commonplace in Schmillion's music and has led the band to finding a solid fanbase around the Austin area. In 2010, the Austin Chronicle awarded the group with its "Best Under 18 Band" award. Due to the young ages and relative inexperience of its members, Schmillion still has plenty of room to grow in terms of songwriting and musicianship. Starting as young as they have, however, is a good sign that it may just be a band to keep an eye on in the coming years.
