By interjecting characteristic elements of her British upbringing into Americana folk tunes, London-based singer/songwriter Sadie Jemmett manages to blend two cultures in her music and write songs that have an attractive dichotomy appeal. With stereotypical instrumentals, courtesy of mandolin and banjo accompaniments, set to Jemmett's thick English voice, the chanteuse manages to pull influences from both sides of the pond to create a distinctively unique sound. The English songstress released her debut LP, The Blacksmith's Girl in 2011, which helped solidify her reputation as a musician who's not afraid to create music that's unabashed about its cultural influences.
