Of Mice & Men is a dramatic play adapted for the stage from Pulitzer Prize winning author John Steinbeck's novel that was published in 1937. Centering around two men named George, a smart, quick witted man, and Lennie, a bumbling yet kind-hearted simpleton, Of Mice & Men takes place during the Great Depression and tells the story of these two men and their lives as hired field hands on a ranch in California. With a dream of one day owning a plot of land of their own, George and Lennie's aspirations are compromised when others start picking on and intimidating Lennie. Though extremely nice, the large-sized Lennie is forced to utilize his strength to protect himself--at the risk of dashing his and George's dreams.
