NaurÊa is an influential seven-man Brazilian band formed in November 2001. Drawing its musical influences from various parts of Brazil and the world including Laranjerias, Costa Rican Reggaeton and Eastern Europe, NaurÊa's distinctive sound incorporates a genre known as Sambaião. NaurÊa produces music with a local flavor that keeps it grounded even as the crowd sways to their groovy yet soulful forró beats. NaurÊa has worked on albums and EPs like Babelesko, Circular Cicade, Kda vez + negaum and Furdunço, all of which were well-received by fans and critics alike. They performed at numerous music festivals like the Fortaleza Music Fair, the Garanhus Winter Festival and the Bahia Cultural Market during, following which they performed at the prestigious Pan-American Games in 2007. Their music received wide-spread recognition after a successful European tour in the same year, putting their name on the map of the global music scene.
