Meklit Hadero

San Francisco-based singer-songwriter Meklit Hadero is the embodiment of San Francisco's diverse array of ethnicities, cultures and musical styles. She was born in Ethiopia and then raised in both Brooklyn and then the Bay Area, Hadero combines jazz, folk and R&B to create a multi-dimensional sound. Hadero plays both piano and guitar, and will often go back and forth between playing the two at live shows. Hadero's lyrical style is notably poetic in its playfulness with words and delivery. Hadero's debut album is titled On A Day Like This and was released in 2010.
