Matthew and the Arrogant Sea is a six-piece that started when lead singer Matthew Gray first wrote songs as a solo artist. But feeling that the tunes lacked any real instrumental depth, he expanded into a full band with the inclusion
of a number of his family and friends; dubbing the outfit the Arrogant Sea. With creative songwriting, music lovers can easily tell that Matthew and the Arrogant Sea likes to freely experiment with their psychedelic sound. As is the case with the rest of their catalog, the band plays to the tunes of minimalist indie-folk.
