Formed in 1999, Lost Bayou Ramblers is a Cajun music project based around the partnership of brothers Louis and Andre Michot. The Lafayette, Louisiana band combines traditional Cajun instrumentation (fiddle, accordion, lap steel guitar) with the swagger of an uptempo, party-minded rock band--the results of which have made it a popular live fixture throughout the Southern US and beyond. Further adding to Lost Bayou Ramblers' reputation was a 2008 Grammy nomination for the band's live album, Live: A La Blue Moon. The majority of the band's music is sung in Cajun French, which lends a sense of authenticity to its take on one of America's oldest genres.
