Gun Runner

The Indie rock band Gun Runner was started by Sean Davenport when he moved back to his hometown of San Diego after decamping from Brooklyn, where he played keyboards in the indie buzz band Abigail Warchild. The SoCal trio instrumentally mines the rich tradition of pretty, atmospheric indie rock as Davenport's wordy mush mouth croon jumps to soaring falsetto and unexpectedly ratchets back down again. The band describes its music as "psychedelic cowboy rock," which is apt both in describing their sonic aesthetic as well as their general attitude.
