The grandson of immortal composer Sergei Prokofiev, composer/musician Gabriel Prokofiev has made it his duty to bring the family business into the 21st Century. Trained as a classical musician his work marries the classical tradition and the cannon of modern electronic music. This is evident in both in his own music and his NonClassical record label and club nights. The result is a hybrid that feels less like a cheap gimmick than it does like convergent evolution of two seemingly disparate genres.
