Jason Kelly, of Wax Museums, and Andrew Savage, of Teenage Cool Kids, formed Fergus & Geronimo in 2008. As they were both members of fairly prominent Texas rock bands, the two musicians traveled in intersecting crowds and met when Kelly was mixing a Teenage Cool Kids album. The duo soon began writing catchy garage rock filled with psychedelic organs and noise pop flourishes, then took its act on the road with a backing band. The group was signed to Seattle label Hardly Art and released its debut LP in 2011 to positive acclaim.
