Popular musical exports from Iceland, such as Bjork and Sigur Ros, often trend toward the more experimental side of the rock and pop worlds. Dikta, on the other hand, is a relatively straight-forward pop/rock band, similar to several popular radio bands in the United States and the UK. The four-piece creates alternative rock-inspired songs full of big, anthemic choruses and lead singer Haukur Heioar Hauksson's expressive, lovelorn croons. At times, the band will strip down its sound to create mellower, folk pop style songs based primarily around acoustic guitar. Fans of Coldplay, Snow Patrol and unabashed pop/rock music will most likely enjoy Dikta.
