DELS is the moniker of Kieren Dickins, a London-based rapper signed to Big Dada, an imprint of the popular experimental electronic and hip-hop label Ninja Tune. He combines a bit of the gritty UK-originated grime style and combines it with influences from the smoother flow of American rappers such as Jay-Z. DELS' beats tend to favor electro styles, with live instrumentation often cohabiting with the heavy use of synthesizers. He began to turn heads when popular electropop artist, Hot Chip, produced his first two singles, "Shapeshift" and "Trumpalump," in 2010. DELS' artistic endeavors stretch beyond hip-hop, as well. The rapper is also a graphic designer who designs and creates his own artwork and music videos.
