Dan Brodie is an Australian country-rock singer/songwriter whose 1998, self-released EP, I'm Floatin' Mama, led to national success and a contract with EMI. As Brodie's music has evolved over the years, grittier indie and punk rock tendencies have began to surface, giving his songs a much more rough-around-the-edges, alt-country sound. In the early 2000s, he began to collaborate more with other musicians, including a partnership with his brother, that was known as Dan Brodie and the Broken Arrows. His new band, Dan Brodie and the Grieving Widow, dissipates his country roots even further, instead opting for a stripped-down blues-punk sound.
