French born, Canadian-based singer-songwriter Christine Fellows is largely a collaborative musician, her projects always incorporate a variety of chamber musicians. However, Fellows is still at the centerpiece of the music, though she fleshes out her compositions with different collaborators on each of her releases. Fellows' 2011 album Femmes de chez nous ("our gals") details the story of nuns, landlocked mermaids, and crowned beauty queens. These depictions of Fellows' music speak to the kind of fantastical, folk themes she engages with in her music and lyrics.
