Brite Futures

Initially gaining attention for the outlandish band name of Natalie Portman's Shaved Head, the Seattle four-piece created music to match its name--slightly absurd synthpop with song titles like "Sophisticated Side Ponytail" and "Beard Envy." After securing a place for itself on the indie music scene, Natalie Portman's PR contacted the band and asked it to change its name, which it obliged, going with the new name of Brite Futures. Even with a more normal name, the group continued to create awkward, noisy electropop with live performances that can go from energetic dance party to disco headache.
