London electropop duo Black Cherry first began producing music as a trio in 2005, but lost a band member to illness and was thus put on hiatus for a while. Deciding to continue the band in his memory, the now-duo released a debut EP in 2010 and jumped on the summer festival circuit throughout the UK and Europe, garnering positive reviews at every show it played. Mixing highly danceable electropop with aspects of glam rock and new wave, then layering it with the soulful vocals of front woman Megane Quashie, Black Cherry managed to find a formula for an undeniably infectious and surprisingly original brand of music.
