With the near nonstop onslaught of alternative rock acts emerging out of England, it can be difficult to locate one like the Sheffield-based group Alvarez Kings, which is actually worthy of listening to for an extended period of time. Breaking out on the scene with its debut LP, The Sequel, in 2010 helped establish Alvarez Kings as a group that's capable of creating polished modern rock tracks with tight-knit harmonies, nimble guitar arrangements and simple, easy to like drumming. The quintet has been the toast of the Sheffield music scene and as the group starts to have its first real taste of moderate mainstream success, the band will no doubt prove to be one of the more fairly interesting central England bands to track.
