Singer/songwriter Alex Khoury initially attempted to break into the music scene in Nashville with his emo-rock trio Fouled Out. After finding some success, the group fell apart due to band member differences and Khoury decided to break off on his own, acoustic guitar in hand, and moved to Austin, Texas in 2010. Since then, Khoury has written solo country rock-influenced ballads, with vocals about the difficulties of the commercial music world and broken relationships, still sung in an emo-pop voice.
