Swedish post hardcore band Adept is a clear reflection of the ever-evolving music scene that exists in the band's home country. Once a hotbed for black metal acts - that would pride themselves on indistinguishable lyrics, highly distorted guitars and an affinity for long black hair and face paint - Sweden's music scene has since grown into a breeding ground for screamo bands, like Adept, that share a mutual affection for demonic sounding vocals and fast layers of guitar reverb. Formed in 2006, Adept is a group that signals a changing of the guards within Sweden's hardcore music underworld. With a distinctive 21st Century style, that's undoubtedly influenced by groups that helped lay the foundations of heavy metal in Northern Europe, Adept has managed to become one of the celebrated bands of the modern Nordic post hardcore scene.
