AM Taxi attempts to bridge the gap between 1980s indie rock bands like the Replacements and Husker Du, and glossy, modern pop punk. Claiming to take inspiration from a wide-reaching range of artists, from Otis Redding to Bruce Springsteen and the Clash, the Chicago-based four-piece released its debut album, We Don't Stand a Chance, on Virgin Records in 2010, after self-releasing and touring a couple of home-recorded EPs. The band's old school punk mindset and melodic vocals have resonated with fans of high-energy modern rock, leading to multiple cross country tours.
