Two trombone players from Harry Connick Jr's big band were frustrated with having to play the same set night after night and yearned to perform in a jam band where they were free to improvise. In 1998 they assembled a six-piece band to plays New Orleans style jazz in a rocking way, and named it Bonerama because of how many horn players they had assembled for the project. Over the years the guys in the band have done unique things to stay ahead of the pack, like releasing sheet music, offering up external hard-drives that can be brought to shows to get a recording of the live set just witnessed and a donor program in which fans can pay varying amounts to have Bonerama play their private party.
