Blue Shift took its name from a physics term that describes a visual representation of the Doppler effect. Like its name might suggest, the group's four London-based youngsters write songs that are possibly too ambitious, but also reflect potential. The lead singer croons soaring vocal lines over shredding guitars that manage to remain balanced and not too excessive, while every chorus usually has a healthy dose of ooh's and aah's. The group formed in 2009 and is still working up to releasing an official album.
