Hip-hop and R&B star Christopher Brent Wood, better known by his stage name Brent Faiyaz, began his career in 2014 by uploading his tracks onto the online audio distribution platform SoundCloud. The Columbia, MD native subsequently moved to Los Angeles to further his career and released his debut single "Allure" in 2015. His debut EP A.M. Paradox, was released in 2016 to positive critical reviews. The same year, Faiyaz formed the group Sonder with record producers Dpat and Atu. The group's 2017 debut EP Duplion found a place on Complex magazine's 'The Best Albums of 2017 (so far)' list. Faiyaz's song "Crew" with rappers GoldLink and Shy Glizzy was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Performance in 2018.
